Permaculture Workshop

The nightingale is singing, the titmice are breeding in the old apple tree, the columbine enchants us in different colors; the rose blossom is just around the corner.

We had a visit from Standpunkt Boden e.V. who have recorded our soil profile and want to create a display board for us, so that we know on which geological ground we walk.

We have reseeded and fertilized the badly damaged lawn in the front part. At the moment it is still blocked off so that it can gather strength for the upcoming strains before the event season.
An orchid has moved into our greenhouse. The iris and columbine are in full bloom, and the rose bloom is just beginning.
The Italian arum in front of the greenhouse is particularly impressive.
New arrivals are: Chinese bush nettle, angelica, scented nettle, acanthus, card thistle, water thistle, marsh spurge, fire bulb, spurge and bamboo orchid.

In the dyeing plant bed, there are dyer’s chamomile, bedstraw, dyer’s woad, indigolupine and red amaranth.
So we can dye yellow, orange, blue and green.

Our planting table is full of: Tree Spinach (leafy vegetable, partial shade to sunny, drought resistant, propagates by root runners), Oriental hellebore (light shade to partial shade, medium moisture), Heartwort (for the heart, light shade to sun, drought resistant) and Red Amaranth (sunny, semi-humid). We are happy to give the plants for donation.

We are currently open two days a week: Tuesdays 12pm to 8pm and Thursdays 3pm to 8pm.

We are looking for people to help by drawing the plants, painting signs for the botanical garden, watering the plants, or messing with the green dragon (hops).
Would you like to maybe adopt our fruit trees? (Name them, take care of them, prune them, harvest them…).

We would love to find someone else to open the garden one more day a week. The idea is to open at a set time and close again at the end, to be in the garden in between and to be approachable for visitors. Being in the garden regularly in the summer is really good for the mind.

On June 10, there will be a small summer bash in the garden starting at 3 p.m., with music indoors and a rumored pie contest in the afternoon.

On June 29-July 2, we’ll host the third installment of Soned’s permaculture design course:
https://soned.de/category/workshops/
In a collaborative atmosphere, the basics of permaculture design will be taught, worked on and tested. This will alternate between theory, design exercises and practice.

Blooming greetings.
